At Franklin A. Landers D.D.S., our goal is to provide dentistry that is undetectable. We replace existing dental crowns and fillings with restorations that look and feel like your natural teeth.
In cases of severe dental damage, we can use porcelain, or porcelain bonded to gold crowns to repair your smile. This technique permanently replaces missing teeth, completely restoring bite function, and can last for up to 20 to 30 years.
Why Dental Crowns?
Dental crowns and bridgework are great solutions for major dental problems caused through accidents and diseases. Crowns are particularly effective for replacing missing teeth, along with chipped, fractured, broken, and worn-down teeth.
In front teeth, old fillings can both weaken the teeth and cause staining or chipping. Porcelain crowns and bridges are a perfect alternative in cases where porcelain veneers are not. Also, for teeth that have been treated with root canal fillings, crowns can prevent further damage.
Fitting a Dental Crown
Fitting a dental crown requires at least two visits to our office. Initially, we will remove any decay, shape the tooth, and fit it with a temporary crown of either plastic or metal. On the subsequent visit, we will remove the temporary crown, and then place and adjust the final crown. Finally, we can cement the crown into place for a new, beautiful tooth.
